Trick or Treat!

My husband and I used to live in a town where Halloween was a very big deal! We loved sitting out in lawn chairs each year passing out tons of candy to the kids who entertained us with the most creative costumes we've ever seen.  We miss those days now that we live way out in the country on a private road and the trick-or-treaters don't come by.

Today's make reminded me of those happy times.  It's a side edge card that I created in Cricut Design Space.  The mummy image was cute on it's own, but when I added the Eyelet Outlet eye brads, it really took him to a new level.

Inside his Halloween treat bucket is one of the new black cat brads going along for a ride.  I also added a bat brad to the moon in the background.

If you're a Cricut crafter and would like to give this project a try, here's a link to the Design Space file. I'd love for you to follow my Cricut profile, too!

Bloom!

Eyelet Outlet Flower Brads are ALWAYS a good idea for adding color and charm to a card, plus they pair really well with stamped or diecut vases, jars and planters! Here we have a vase full of Rose Brads and one of White Daisy Brads which have attracted the attention of a Mini Bee Brad. The background is Wide Sky Washi; the sentiment is diecut from Grass Tape; and the base of the planter is a single strip of Wood Tape. A scatter of white Round Sequins completes the design.

Teacher, You're Owlsome!

Greetings! Kids are going back to school now. From kindergarten to college, millions are starting a new year. My son is a sophomore in college this fall so there's no need to make a teacher card but old habits die hard! I am feeling nostalgic and I miss my son who has been gone a week now. So I decided to use one of my old favorite apple dies and create a card for a deserving teacher.

I started this card by cutting out 7 apples and pieced a stem and leaf to each one. I made a white A2 card base and dry embossed about 75% of it, leaving the cardstock plain toward the top where I was going to put the sentiment and brads. I arranged the apples over the embossed area and trimmed off the edges where they overlapped the card edge and where the embossing ended at the top. I added a couple Glasses Brads to help fill the space.

Then I cut a Thanks strip and applied it at border where the embossing ended. I cut another one in red and glued just the thanks word to the top of the first thanks die cut. I added Book Brads, Apple Brads, and Sketched Owl Brads. Finally I stamped the You're Owlsome on the front and I stamped "for being my teacher" on vellum. I cut the vellum into a strip and decorated it with green Cut Jewels on each end. I applied it to the card by dabbing glue behind the bling so the glue would be hidden.

Unlock Your Potential

School bells are starting to ring and it's time to unlock those lockers and so I thought I'd share a back-to-school card with you today that I'll be sending to my granddaughter.

For this card I found an image of some lockers from CreativeClipCloud on Etsy and imported it into Cricut Design Space. I specifically wanted at least one locker door to be open so I could fill it with some Eyelet Outlet brads. I chose the books brad and a basketball brad since my granddaughter plays on her school's basketball team.  I also added a water bottle brad and a few gold stars to my sentiment.

Eyelet Outlet will be at the Scrapbook Expo this weekend at Edison New Jersey, so if you're in the area, stop by our booth and see us!

A Wreath of Christmas Cheer

Hello Eyelet Outlet fans! Janet here today with yes, a Christmas card! I hope you'll forgive such an early post but we have new holiday brads and well, you'll just have to forgive me for playing with them. It's too hard not to!

Wreaths are such a quintessential holiday symbol and I recently received some new dies to make wreaths so I thought I'd put one together and decorate it with EO brads and bling. The truth is that you can use just about any shapes to make wreaths but one secret to it all is to start with a donut shaped ring out of cardstock in the color you are using and build on top of it. This is similar to making real wreaths. My cardstock wreath elements all started as white pieces. The dies imprint the leaf veins so when I inked them up, the veins and other marks really come to life. I arranged one layer at a time and glued just the center of each leaf so that the edges would stay dimensional and allow me to tuck other leaves under them here and there. The goal is to make is look as realistic as you can.

Once I was satisfied with the base wreath, I started attaching brads and bling. Here I used the new Angel Brads and added Pinecone Brads, Poinsettia Brads and Red Jewel Bling. Then I added two layers of foam tape which gives a good amount of lift. I gently shaped the edges of the wreath downward to create a slightly domed look which again mimics a real wreath. I debated adding a bow but decided to feature a Tree Retro Brad in the center instead. I like the clean and cheerful look this gave it.

To finish the card, I chose a striped holiday paper for the background and cut an arch shaped mat in white. I stamped Merry Christmas at the bottom and then I applied the wreath and the silver circle with the Tree Brad. There's a lot of white space toward the bottom so I added three Green Glitter Enamel Dots to the front. This is quite pretty and elegant don't you think?

Beach Body

There's still a few more weeks to hit the beach before school starts, and so I'm bringing you a fun little card with advice on how to get a "Beach Body!" It's quite simple, really...first, go to the beach. Second, have a body!  🤣

Beach themed projects are such fun to embellish with the many beached themed brads available at Eyelet Outlet. For today's card I chose some cute sunglasses, the popular sandcastle, a pair of flip flops, and a sand pail and shovel set.

Witching You a Happy Halloween Interactive Card

Hello everyone! Are you a big Halloween fan? I sure am! I have so much fun with Halloween because there's so many fun images out there to work with. This is an interactive pull tab card made with a new set from Diamond Press called Boo to You. When you pull the tab, you get to see the witch pop out from behind the tombstones. This die and stamp set seems like it was made for Eyelet Outlet embellishments! They enhance this card perfectly!

The set comes with clear instructions and the dies and stamps needed to make this pull tab card. Before assembling it, I added all the cute EO brads. The pumpkin is sporting a Witch Hat Brad. There are two Cat Brads-Black on top and in front of tombstones. A Pumpkin Brad sits to the right of the main tombstone. Two Ghost Brads and a Bat Brad are floating in the background. Finally, I used a Cloud Brad in front of the orange moon. Super cute!

Happy Halloween

I know it's a little early for Halloween, but it will be here before you know it, so let's get started!

By now I hope you've stopped by Eyelet Outlet and had a look at all of our new brads.  Among them are these awesome candy corn brads.  I created this card in Cricut Design Space using a jar from the Cricut image library. Using the slice tools and a bit of acetate for the window, I created a shaker card.  In addition to the candy corn brads which I fastened to the back layer, I added some of our amazing sequins.

How about these lack-o-lantern sequins!  Don't you just love them?!  I also added a few round white and yellow ones to the mix inside my shaker. The ghost brads are a favorite of mine, and I thought it was a perfect addition to the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today.  We'd love to see how you're using Eyelet Outlet products in your projects and hope you'll share with us on our Eyelet Outlet Fans Facebook group.

Mitten Magic

I've been busy making Christmas cards so that I'm ready for our card mailings and for my church's craft fair coming up in December. The task is enjoyable with all the wonderful holiday brads and bling from Eyelet Outlet. This card has a number of elements but is pretty quick to create. The mittens and checked cardstocks were cut using Cricut Design Space. Once I designed it by sizing and arranging it to my liking, I cut the pieces out and proceeded to put them together.

Once pieced, the card was ready to decorate. First I glued the arched background in place. Then I cut the circles for the sentiment with punches and stamped the white one. I layered them with foam tape and applied it to the bottom corner. Then I added the three Holly Brads to the other corners.

Next, I added the Tree -Retro Brad to the center of the white tree. I added three Snowflake Brads on the two mittens and then three White Snowflake Bling pieces to the mitten cuff. I like the pops of white and green on this card. The brads and bling set the mittens off perfectly.

Devil or Angel

Here's a fun little birthday card using Eyelet Outlet's brand new Angel Brads and some of our Swirl Cupcake Brads.

The birthday girl is fighting with her conscience about whether to have one cupcake or two. I created this card in Cricut Design Space with images from the Cricut image library.

If you're a Cricut crafter, too, I've shared the file for this project on my Cricut profile
